Home >> About Us Welcome Founded in 1999, Racing for Corey is a program designed to bring together the sport of auto racing and kids diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, in hopes of inspiring them to stay strong and to hold on to their dreams. Through Racing for Corey, race-themed events are organized to entertain the children and families of various nonprofit and wish-granting organizations across the country. Event activities include exclusive interaction with celebrity drivers with photo and autograph opportunities, a hands-on experience with Racing for Corey’s quarter midget and a host of behind-the-scenes and ontrack activities. The program was founded in the memory of Corey Hanchar, a nine-year-old member of the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund – see Corey’s Corner. Racing for Corey has entertained children and families in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Arizona and Texas. Racing for Corey is a 501 (c) (3), nonprofit organization. Specific fundraising events are held throughout the year with proceeds going directly to designated nonprofit and wish-granting organizations that Racing for Corey supports.
